Taylor Swift insists she has 'no complaints' about Cats experience despite musical BOMBING at box office

Taylor Swift has no regrets about her part in the box-office flop Cats.

Though the musical was widely panned, the pop star said she had 'no complaints' about the experience while opening up to Variety.

In fact, Swift, 30, said she loved working on the 'weird-ass movie,' noting she never would have met the legendary Andrew Lloyd Webber if not for the film.

Speaking to the magazine ahead of the Golden Globes earlier this month, Taylor said she was thrilled to be nominated for the Cats tune Beautiful Ghosts, something which wouldn't have happened without the film.

'I'm happy to be here, happy to be nominated, and I had a really great time working on that weird-ass movie,' she said.

Swift wasn't letting the public backlash against the film change her mind, saying: 'I'm not gonna retroactively decide that it wasn't the best experience.

'I never would have met Andrew Lloyd Webber or gotten to see how he works, and now he's my buddy. I got to work with the sickest dancers and performers. No complaints.'

Since its release last December, Cats has been lambasted by critics and movie-goers.

Branded an 'all-time disaster' by one critic, the film was slammed as 'jarring', 'a huge failure', 'soulless' and just plain 'wrong' by movie buffs on both sides of the Atlantic.

Reviews were so scathing that the film was even re-edited and reissued to theaters after an abysmal opening weekend.

Director Tom Hooper credited the shoddy effects and sloppy editing to the fact he only finished the final one day before its real premiere.

The film - which also stars Judy Dench, Jennifer Hudson, Ian McKellen, Jason Derulo, Rebel Wilson, and James Corden - has been a commercial failure too, taking in just $27million domestically since its December 20th release. In the international market, it's raked in $33million.

Cats didn't come cheap, with a $95million production budget and over $100million estimated to be spent on marketing and distribution fees.

That means the project could be on track to lose Universal Studios a whopping $100million, according to film insiders who spoke to Variety.
