McDonald and Dodds hailed by viewers as "superb" - digitalspy.com

McDonald and Dodds made its two-hour premiere on Sunday night (March 1), and viewers were pleasantly impressed with its first offering.

The two-part series sees ambitious DCI Lauren McDonald (Tala Gouveia) reluctantly partnered with shy detective sergeant Dodds (Jason Watkins), until she discovers his hidden talent for puzzle-solving may just help her solve the latest case.

The case in question sees the pair investigate the shooting of a homeless man in a empty mansion owned by local industry titan Max Crockett, whose family seems to have a few secrets among them.

But, what did viewers think?

Well, set in Bath, McDonald and Dodds was quick to win over fans with its two-hour premiere, with many promising to tune back in again next week.

Other viewers deemed the drama "superb" and "entertaining".

"Loved it," said one viewer.

"McDonald and Dodds proved to be entertaining stuff," said another. "Back next week."

"I found the first episode quite promising, entertaining and funny," said another. "Looking forward to next one."

"Wasn't quite sure about McDonald and Dodds at the start, but it was totally different from other police dramas," said one more.

"It had some funny quips in it and I enjoyed it."

Alas, only time will tell whether McDonald and Dodds will be commissioned to solve more cases.
