STRICTLY Come Dancing winner Jay McGuiness has opened up about "angry" scenes backstage on the show, adding: "Loads more happens than is reported".
The 29-year-old former The Wanted singer won the 2015 series of the BBC One dance show, and has shed some new light on his experience.
Speaking to The Sun Online, Jay hinted that some celebs put on fake personas for the cameras during "high tension" filming.
He explained: "Loads more happens on Strictly than is reported, and nearly everything that is reported is not exactly what happened.
"I’m not going to give out personal secrets but people have dark days and nine times out of ten, the crew and everyone lets it happen and it goes under the radar."
However, the West End star went on to insist that the secrets aren't entirely to do with the famous Strictly Curse, adding: "I can see how when I say that a bunch of people will be like: 'Everyone's s***ging! Everyone's f***ing everyone!'
"But really, most of the stuff is when people are really struggling, or when people are really angry and upset and they try to let everyone have their minute.
"There's a really high tension situation; we had some real wild characters and then when the camera comes on they pull it together and they're like: 'Please vote for us'.
"I’m not going to reveal who, but also some people were really relaxed and when the camera came on they were really zany, and all that sort of stuff."
Jay continued: "I think it's a brilliant show, I watch it every single year but now I watch it and think: 'Who knows what's going on?'"
Peter Andre was among the stars to feature on the same series of Strictly as Jay, as well as Kellie Bright, Georgia May Foote, Ainsley Harriott, Kirsty Gallacher, Jeremy Vine, Jamelia, Anita Rani, Helen George, Kellie Bright, and Georgia May Foote.
His Sleepless: A Musical Romance co-star, Kimberley Walsh, also appeared on Strictly - but insisted that her series was a little less exciting.
The Girls Aloud star was runner-up in the 2012 instalment of the show, and told us: "Our year was actually really dull in that respect. It just happened to be a dull one.
"But we both have quite a few friends that work on it so we find out the gossip - it’s the hair and make-up girls who say it all."
Jay teased: "Can you imagine the Strictly hair and make-up team doing a tell all book? Millions would be sold, lots of secrets."
Despite her own experience on the show being completely innocent, Kimberley admitted that she would be wary if her husband, Justin Scott, signed up.
She told us: "I feel bad saying it because I just know he's so understanding and supportive... I just feel like he’s a cool character and maybe I’m just not that cool, I’m trying to play it down but I don't know if I would be that alright with it.
"I wouldn't be thrilled. I wouldn't be alright with it, but thankfully he's not gonna do it."
Although Kimberley has her reservations about Justin appearing on Strictly, she insisted that he isn't worried at all about her close working relationship with Jay on the West End.
Sleepless: A Musical Romance is the second production that the two have appeared in together - with the two stars being cast after wowing producers with their chemistry when they both appeared in Big: The Musical last year.
The two play love interests in both shows, but Justin has no concerns about their impressive connection, with Jay joking: "Do you know why he's not? Because he has met me."
Speaking about the show, he continued: "It feels weird because we spend nearly the whole show apart, it's like two plays happening next to each other and we meet at the end."
And both stars are confident that fans of the 1993 film will love the stage show, with Kimberley explaining: “It is an iconic movie and I really remember it growing up, I loved it.
“I think the changes just give a bit more like depth to the characters. You get a bit more of an insight into Annie and Sam and that is quite a nice thing.”
Jay agreed: “I feel pretty happy that we’ve got a good starting point!
“It’s totally different as well because this has songs.”
