Claudine Auger, the first French star to play a Bond Girl, has died aged 78.
The Time Art agency confirmed the news, stating that Claudine passed away at her home in Paris last Thursday.
Her cause of death is unknown.
She was best known for her role as Dominique Derval, aka Domino, starring opposite Sean Connery in the 1965 James Bond movie, Thunderball.
Falling for the legendary character, Domino defected from being a baddie to one of the good guys, even killing off her former lover Emilio Largo with a harpoon during a dramatic chase.
She also performed her own stunts on the film, including a number of underwater swimming scenes.
Claudine was a runner-up in the 1958 Miss World beauty pageant, and worked as a model before becoming an actress.
Over her career the star appeared in French, Italian and English speaking films.

In her lifetime, Claudine was married twice – first to writer/director Pierre Gaspard-Huit, and then later British businessman Peter Brent, whom she remained with for 20 years before his passing in 2008.
They had a daughter together, Jessica Claudine Brent, born in 1991.
