Love Island's Olivia Attwood admits she went on the show for FAME not romance... hours after it was revealed she is 'in talks' to be new Aftersun host following Caroline Flack's exit
She found romance with her ex-boyfriend Chris Hughes during the third series of the hit ITV2 show Love Island in 2017.
Yet Olivia Attwood has candidly revealed that she set her sights on the dating show in order to gain notoriety rather than a relationship, just hours after her name was thrown into the ring as the new host of spin-off show Aftersun on Tuesday.
Replying to one of her Instagram followers who accused her of using the programme for fame, the TOWIE regular, 28, replied saying 'no s**t Sherlock!'
Honesty is the best policy: Olivia Attwood has candidly revealed that she set her sights on the dating show in order to gain notoriety rather than a relationship
Although the reality star left the villa in a relationship with Chris, who is now dating Jesy Nelson, she revealed she only went in to increase her public platform.
Olivia, who also finished in third place with Chris during her turn on the show, tweeted during last summer's series to hit out at Anton Danyluk for claiming he didn't care about money.
‘I love Antonio I really do, but, no one goes on @LoveIsland for just for ‘love’ .. including you and your shaven bum [sic]' she tweeted.
New host? Her words came just hours after her name was thrown into the ring as the new host of spin-off show Aftersun on Tuesday after Caroline stepped down from the role
Jokey! Replying to one of her Instagram followers who accused her of using the programme for fame, the TOWIE regular, 28, replied saying 'no s**t Sherlock!'
In a further tweet, she agreed with fellow Islander Kady McDermott who slated Molly-Mae Hague for also claiming she went on the show in search of love.
Kady didn't hold back when it came to assessing the most recent batch of Islanders as she took a swipe at Molly-Mae Hague for 'lying' about going on the show with the sole intention of finding love.
During a brutal tweet challenge, which involved reading out tweets from the public, one claimed Molly-Mae didn't like Tommy Fury and was only 'after £50K'.

Echoing her sentiments, Olivia replied with: ‘I mean yeh I like her but that’s a stretch (sic)
Yet despite Molly-Mae's strong protestations that this wasn't the case and she entered the villa only to find love, Kady wasn't convinced.
Taking to Twitter, she shared: ‘Molly you didn’t come here for just one thing (love) let’s be honest. No one did.’

New presenter? Olivia Attwood is in talks with ITV bosses to replace Caroline Flack as the host of Love Island's spin-off show: Aftersun (pictured on Love Island in 2017)
Olivia has been approached by ITV bosses to replace Caroline as the host of Love Island spin-off series, Aftersun
MailOnline revealed the reality star and former Islander is a favourite among producers to front the show after Caroline, stood down from BOTH the main programme and Aftersun, four days after she was charged with assault.
A source revealed: 'Olivia starred on Love Island in 2017 – she knows exactly what the Islanders will be going through.'
Will she return? Caroline has stood down from one series of Love Island – the debut of the winter version – but she could be back by the summer
An insider added: 'Olivia has really proven herself as a TV star.
'Since making a name for herself she's worked on a number of shows including Crackin' On, Celebs Go Dating and TOWIE, as well as appearing as a guest on I'm A Celebrity... Extra Camp and Aftersun.
'The team at ITV have a great working relationship with her and feel she'll bring her experience as a former islander to the show, plus the fact they love she always speaks her mind.
'Bosses have already scheduled meetings with Olivia to discuss the role but hope she'll be the one to sign on the dotted line.'
From panelist to host: Olivia has previously appeared on Aftersun as a guest on the panel – but now bosses are keen to hire her as host (pictured in June)
A source close to the ITV2 show confirmed the door 'remains firmly open' for Caroline to return next summer.
Meanwhile ex-Survival of the Fittest host Laura Whitmore, 34, is the bookies odds-on favourite to present the main show in Cape Town that launches next month.
In November MailOnline revealed TV personality Olivia is also in talks with Lime Pictures to front her on wedding spin-off series with fiancé Bradley Dack.
The star got engaged to Blackburn Rovers midfielder Bradley, 25, in October – after the pair rekindled their romance following her appearance on Love Island.
Out and about: Caroline pictured the day before she announced she would no longer be hosting the show – she had been given a £1.2million deal to host two shows per year
Caroline stood down from her Love Island presenting duties after being charged with assault last Friday.
Police arrested Caroline at her north London home following an altercation with her boyfriend Lewis, 27, who has since defended her, calling her 'loyal and kind'.
Caroline signed a £1.2m deal to host two seasons of the show a year and is said to be 'devastated' about the decision.
An ITV spokeswoman said: 'ITV has a long standing relationship with Caroline and we understand and accept her decision.
'We will remain in contact with her over the coming months about future series of Love Island.'
Caroline issued a statement today, which read: 'There have been a significant number of media reports and allegations in regards to my personal life.
'While matters were not as have been reported, I am committed to co-operating with the appropriate authorities and I can't comment further on these matters until the legal process is over.'
She continued: 'However, Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it's the best show on telly.
'In order not to detract from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down from Series 6.
'I want to wish the incredible team working on the show a fantastic series in Cape Town.'
MailOnline have contacted Olivia Attwood's representation for comment. ITV declined to comment.
