Meghan Markle and Harry spark frenzy with new Instagram post – ‘Almost had a heart attack’ - Express

The royal couple have not been seen in public over the last few weeks as they are taking a break from official duties. But they have still kept their social media page active by occasionally sharing snaps, including today’s collection of photos from their Christmas engagements last year. But their loyal fans demanded to see their family festive photo after the Cambridge family’s adorable family photo was shared online.

One Instagram user wrote: “You are playing with us! Christmas card please.”

Another person added: “Almost had a heart attack. Post the card please.”

Alongside a series of pictures taken during their engagements last Christmas, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex also wrote a message on their Instagram page.

They said: “Today we look back to Christmas 2018, and The Duchess of Sussex’s visit to Brinsworth House, a residential and nursing care home in Twickenham, owned and run by the Royal Variety Charity.

“Each year, the UK’s much beloved Royal Variety performance is held in aid of the Royal Variety Charity of which Her Majesty The Queen is Patron. Funds raised from the show and throughout the year, help entertainers from around the UK who need support and assistance as a result of old age, ill-health, or hard times.

“At Brinsworth House, the Duchess joined residents singing carols and making Christmas decorations, as she unveiled a traditional ‘Royal plaque’ which is proudly displayed on the entrance hall wall, not far from one marking the 1976 visit of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother.

“Last Christmas, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended their first joint Royal Variety performance at the iconic London Palladium.

“Since HRH’s visit, the Royal Variety Charity has completely refurbished Brinsworth House’s kitchen and dining room, enabling residents to feel even more at home, in their new home.”

“The photograph, which features on Their Royal Highnesses’ Christmas card, was taken by photographer Chris Allerton.”

One insider has predicted this year’s card will have a “selection of family photographs” taken along with their son Archie.

The pair are also planning to spend Christmas with Meghan’s mother Doria, instead of the Queen at Sandringham.

A spokesperson for the couple said in November: “Having spent the last two Christmases at Sandringham, their Royal Highnesses will spend the holiday this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland.

“This decision is in line with precedent set previously by other members of the Royal Family, and has the support of Her Majesty The Queen.”

This means the Sussex family will also miss the Queen’s annual Christmas eve celebrations.

Her Majesty reportedly hosts both a private afternoon tea for the family during the day.

The royals then dress up for a black tie dinner and drinks reception in the evening.

Grant Harold, former butler to Prince Charles, told Insider: “Most of the royals will arrive [at Sandringham] on Christmas eve.

“They will have afternoon tea, which is traditionally held between 4pm and 6pm, where they will exchange gifts.”
