Screen Actors Guild Awards 2020: Brits look ready to take The Crown as Helena Bonham Carter, Olivia Colman, Jodie Comer and Phoebe Waller-Bridge and receive nods

- Meanwhile, Fleabag writer and star Phoebe has been recognised for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series
- The 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will air live on TNT and TBS on Sunday, January 19 at 8pm ET. The host has yet to be announced
It could be a march of the Brits at this year's Screen Actors Guild Awards, as a legion of leading ladies have been given nods.
As nominees were revealed, stars including The Crown's Helena Bonham Carter and Olivia Colman, Killing Eve's Jodie Comer and Fleabag's Phoebe Waller-Bridge received nods in Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor categories.
The annual awards take place on Sunday 19 January 2020 and will see the biggest stars of television and film descend on the ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium to see who will walk away victorious.

As both writer and star of the show, Phoebe is no doubt overjoyed to see Fleabag mentioned for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and her own mention Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series.

Further Brits to get a mention include Emily Watson and Jared Harris for their roles in Chernobyl with nods in both the female and male categories for Outstanding Performance a Television Movie or Limited Series.
Game Of Thrones is another show on to a winner, with mentions in Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series, Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for Peter Dinklage's Tyrion Lannister and Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
The Outstanding Performance By A Cast went to Bombshell, The Irishman, JoJo Rabbit, Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood and Parasite.
Could they win? Emily Watson and Jared Harris were nominated for Chernobyl in both the female and male categories for Outstanding Performance a Television Movie or Limited Series
Starring role... Olivia has been given yet another nod for her role on the show
The Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role was packed with talent as Cynthia Evro was singled out for her tole in Harriet, Scarlett Johansson for Marriage Story, Lupita Nyong'o for Us, Charlize Theron for Bombshell, and Renee Zellweger for Judy.
And there were not too many surprises in the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role category. Christian Bale was recognised for Ford V Ferrari, Leonardo DiCaprio for Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood, Adam Driver got a nod for Marriage Story, as did Taron Egerton for Rocketman and Joaquin Phoenix for Joker.
Robert De Niro was left out of Best Actor for The Irishman, but he will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award from SAG instead, which will be presented the award by DiCaprio.

Joe Pesci and Al Pacino were given Best Supporting Actor nominations for The Irishman, however, and the film was also nominated in the Best Film Ensemble category.
Jennifer Aniston landed a nod for her work on The Morning Show as did Steve Carell and Billy Crudup while Reese Witherspoon was not singled out, but she is included in the best cast for Big Little Lies.
Jennifer Lopez received a nomination for her starring role as stripper Ramona in the film Hustlers, which she got a Golden Globe nomination for earlier this week.

America Ferrera of Superstore and Danai Gurira of Black Panther and The Walking Dead announced the nominees live from West Hollywood on Wednesday.
SAG-AFTRA president Gabrielle Carteris of Beverly Hills, 90210 fame introduced them after the stunt ensemble nominees were announced by SAG Awards Committee chair JoBeth Williams and SAG Awards Committee member Elizabeth McLaughlin.
The SAG awards are viewed as a more valuable precursor to the Oscars than the Golden Globes.
