A Star Wars fan claims to have been punched in the face by another cinema-goer after using his phone during a screening.
Joe Bond and his wife went to watch the new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, starring Daisy Ridley and John Boyega, at the Scotiabank cinema in Vancouver, Canada over the weekend.
However, they only got as far as the opening credits when a row erupted.
Bond told CTV News that the man had aggressively asked staff how to find his seat when he sat down next to them.
The man allegedly shouted at another movie-goer who had taken out his phone to film the opening credits.
But then Bond took out his own phone at the same time as he thought it was a ‘call from the babysitter’.
Revealing how the situation escalated, Bond told the publication: ‘He just kind of lost it, he began yelling and screaming. I told him to calm down, and he didn’t calm down, and then he hit me in the face.

‘There was a lot of people filming the situation because it was pretty hilarious.’

Other cinema-goers filmed footage of the aftermath where the man is seen shouting: ‘I am a real Star Wars fan!’
After growing even more irate, he adds: ‘Turn your phone off! Use your f*****g heads! Welcome to the 21st century!’ while waving his mobile in the air.
He added: ‘I waited a God-damned year for this and some [expletive] turned his phone on next to me.’
The man is then escorted by staff out of the screening and Cineplex confirmed he was removed.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the chain joked: ‘Luckily, the Force was strong with the Cineplex team who ended up rewinding the film for the remaining guests.’
The Rise of Skywalker is the final episode of the current Star Wars series and sees Ridley and Boyega reprise their leading roles as Rey and Finn respectively.
