Harry Potter star Miriam Margolyes tells off One Show hosts live on air - digitalspy.com

Harry Potter star Miriam Margolyes has made another memorable appearance on The One Show.

Last time the comedian and actress dropped by the BBC One chat show, she made some headlines for telling children's TV presenter and fellow guest Mr Tumble that she had no idea who he was.

Margolyes joined Matt Baker and Alex Jones on Tuesday (March 3) to discuss the obesity crisis in promotion of her new BBC documentary Miriam's Big Fat Adventure. During the chat, she noticed the hosts were skirting around using the word "obesity".

"'Obesity', don't be afraid of it," she corrected Alex at one point, before turning to Matt: "I noticed when you said it before, you lowered your voice. It's embarrassing!"

"Did I? Well, it's funny. I don't know if it's embarrassment because it affects probably every family," Matt tried to explain.

Margolyes later changed course when Alex used the word "obese", telling her she preferred to refer to overweight people as "fat" instead.

"I don't like 'obesity'. I use the word because it is the correct word, but I just have to jump over it a bit," the actress insisted.

Miriam was in rare form throughout the interview, especially when Alex asked about her goals for the documentary.

"Well, principally the money," she joked.

In the end, the star did mention a very important point about the topic of obesity that she learned while filming Miriam's Big Fat Adventure.

"It doesn't really matter what you look like, as long as you're healthy," she pointed out.

We're hoping Miriam keeps up her good health, so she can bring us many more years of awkwardly hilarious telly appearances!

The One Show airs Mondays through Fridays on BBC One at 7pm.
