Kate and William give rare public display of affection during Ireland visit - Express

William and Kate aren’t often seen displaying signs of affection towards each other in public given their top royal status. Yet, in pictures from their visit to Ireland, the pair can be seen with smiles swiped across their faces as they indulge in some serious PDA.

After a day of meetings and visits in the capital, Dublin, they arrived at the Guinness Storehouse’s Gravity Bar.

Here, they spent an evening at a reception hosted by Robin Barnett, the British ambassador to Ireland.

While posing in front of the Guinness sig, Kate affectionately touched William’s arm as they shared a laugh together.

While William donned a slick blue three-piece suit, Kate was draped in an ankle length metallic emerald green dress.

She coupled the outfit with a pair of green heels, statement earrings and a gold clutch bag.

The pair brushed shoulders with the stars while inside the reception.

They were spotted talking to Game of Thrones star, Liam Cunningham.

The Duchess was also spotted clasping a pint of beer, while William made a joke about Queen Elizabeth II visiting the venue nearly 10 years ago.

The pairing up will mark the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey, next Monday.

It isn’t the first time members of the royal family have attempted to make a show of solidarity amid a tumultuous period involving the split of Harry and Meghan from mainstream duties.

The pair announced they would step back from being senior royals in January vi an Instagram post.

In a bid to show the family were slowly but surely reuniting, last month, William, Kate, Prince Charles and Camilla stepped out for a rare joint engagement.

Photos of William and Charles engaged in father-son fun, William sat in a wheelchair while Charles stood by and grabbed his shoulders, moved many royal watchers.

The couples then played wheelchair basketball at the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre.

So far, the Queen has been the only member of the royal family to release an official statement about Harry and Meghan’s departure.

Her Majesty said: "Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much-loved members of my family.

"I recognise the challenges they have experienced as a result of intense scrutiny over the last two years and support their wish for a more independent life."

William and Kate are yet to speak out about the split.

They did, however, laugh at a joke made by Brad Pitt about Harry leaving the UK, during the BAFTA’s in January.

Although fans have relished at knowing what members of the royal family think about the split, Insider magazine explained that, in reality, royal watchers will likely never know the personal impact the Sussex’s move has had.

The publication did note that the fact royal members are making an effort to show unity proves that they’re in it together.
