A royal source told People: ‘“They won’t get back to the way they were.
“Harry is looking straight ahead at his future with his family.”
That future appears for now to be firmly in Canada and the US, where Harry and Meghan plan to divide their time with baby son Archie.
The cooled relations were all too visible to the public on Monday, when the brothers attended the Commonwealth Day service.
They appeared awkwardly to acknowledged each other, as they and their wives took their places in the congregation.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in their seats on the second row, followed shortly after by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Harry and Meghan smiled and greeted William and Kate, while the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge offered brief hellos.
According to the Daily Telegraph, Harry was taken aback by William’s cold and perfunctory greeting.
He is alleged to have said to Meghan: “He literally said: ‘Hello, Harry,’ and that was it and he didn’t say anything more than that.”

The two princes have missed the calming influence and crucial support of the Queen’s longstanding private secretary Christopher Geidt.
Mr Geidt retired from his post in 2017, but played a key role in smoothing over any grievances between the boys and the rest of the family.
He also helped mediate their relationship with their father, Prince Charles, with whom the princes are said to have a complex relationship.
A friend told People: “There is a lot of hurt and a lot of unresolved issues between the boys and no-one to help mediate.”

The friend added that as a result: “Petty grievances can become huge conflicts between all the different royal offices if they aren’t managed correctly, and that’s exactly what’s happening now.”
Meghan and Harry are known to enjoy a much stronger and closer relationship with Prince Edward and his wife Sophie.
Meghan and Sophie became close after the Queen earmarked the Countess of Wessex to act as a mentor to the Duchess of Sussex.
The pair share similar backgrounds, both having forged successful careers for themselves outside of the Royal Family.
They also have similar interests and are protective of their children.
Over the past year, the friendship between the houses of Wessex and Sussex has grown stronger, after Harry and Meghan moved to Windsor, where Edward and his wife live.
Edward has reportedly been working hard to effect a conciliation between the William and Harry, but unfortunately with little success.
Meghan and Harry will officially quit the Royal Family at the end of March.
As a result they will lose their HRH titles, and Harry will also forfeit his military roles, as the pair embark on their “financially independent” life outside royal confines.
