Piers Morgan furious and blasts 'snowflakes' trying to sack him in tense debate on ITV GMB - Express

Piers Morgan has been slammed on Twitter over the past week for his divisive opinions on transgender issues. A petition has been going round on the social media platform to remove the presenter from Good Morning Britain

Most recently, Piers changed his Twitter profile picture to a penguin with his face superimposed over it.

He has joked how he now identifies as a “penguin”, poking fun at the countless amount of possibilities for gender identification.

It sparked an online petition to have him fired from Good Morning Britain and the furious host addressed the “snowflakes” who are trying to get him sacked on today's show.

In a heated debate, he told guest Benjamin Butterworth: “Your lobby group, the gender lobby group which is highly abusive, they want everyone they don’t agree with to be fired, cancelled, destroyed.

“I actually learned a bit from you, you’ve come back on and demanded I get fired because you only want people sitting here that you agree with.

“You’re not going to get me fired.”

India Willoughby hit back at Benjamin, saying: "I would rather be in Piers Morgan land than your world, it's more interesting."

Piers added: "You have kids sitting watching this, you're saying there are 100 ways to identify."

Benjamin pondered what would "be better" than having the host fired.

Piers snapped back: "But you signed a petition saying you wanted to fire me. You want to fire me vecause you want me to think how you think.

"Liberals are only interested in people who think like them."

India explained: "Most people who have transitioned are on Piers Morgan's side."

Susanna opined: "I think the 100 gender thing has thrown everybody. 100 ways to define yourself?"

Earlier on the show, Good Morning Britain conducted a poll about whether Piers should stay or go.

At the beginning of the programme, “Go” was winning with 59 percent, while “Stay” had 41 percent.

The petition was started last week by Liam Austen, who wrote: “In being an award-winning breakfast programme with a worldwide reach, one could presume that Good Morning Britain would act as an effective platform to educate the masses on these issues.

“In keeping Piers Morgan as the programme’s main draw, however, ITV are actively choosing to promote an insidious agenda against transgender people (and minorities in general), as through his choice of language he regularly berates and mocks those who do not identify in a way he is willing to comprehend.”

Moments after, a rival petition was started with 37,000 people signing it to keep Piers on Good Morning Britain.

Margaret Lowry wrote: “Keep Piers Morgan for his common sense approach to life. He’s also funny!!

“He’s not afraid to speak out and says what a lot of us are thinking.”

Meanwhile fans flocked to Twitter to comment on Piers’ light-hearted attitude towards the calls for his sacking.
