Pride of Britain: Cheryl flashes a winning smile and a hint of cleavage as she departs glitzy awards in typically glamorous style

She joined a legion of stars on the red carpet earlier in the evening.

And Cheryl proved herself to look as stunning off the red carpet as on as she made a sensational departure from the Pride of Britain Awards at London's Grosvenor House Hotel on Monday evening, alongside her equally-glam fellow guests.

The singer, 36, exuded elegance in a form-fitting black dress with dramatic fringed detail on the shoulders as she stepped into a cab while flashing a beaming smile at vying admirers and photographers outside the event.

Cheryl's stunning Little Black Dress teased a glimpse of her cleavage with its cut-out detail while cinching in at her slender waist. She added height to her petite frame with black strappy stilettos and pinned a poppy to the front of her dress.

The Fight For This Love hitmaker worked her caramel flecked tresses into a stylish chignon while a rich palette of make-up enhanced her pretty features.

On the red carpet earlier in the evening, Cheryl posed with inspirational young award winner, Aaron Hunter, nine, who picked up the Good Morning Britain Young Fundraiser (Scotland) award.

Aaron has ROHHAD, an extremely rare and complex disease that affects the function of every single system and organ within the body.

There are just 100 known cases worldwide. Sufferers face a daily fight for survival and many patients die before they reach their teens.

When doctors confirmed Aaron had ROHHAD in January 2015, there was no test to diagnose it, little research into the illness and critically, there is no cure.

Months after being diagnosed, Aaron and his family founded the ROHHAD Association to raise awareness and money to fund research, as well as to offer support to other families and children with the syndrome.

After seeing the Ice Bucket Challenge on the news, Aaron asked his mother if he could do something similar. He came up with the Muddy Puddle Challenge, where participants jump in puddles - something Aaron can’t do due to his condition.

He then made a video calling on his favourite superhero, Ironman – played by Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr – to do the challenge.

The actor was so inspired by Aaron’s selflessness and desire to help others, he flew to Britain and met the schoolboy to do a Muddy Puddle jump.

Aaron has also come up with the Zero to Hero challenge and other local fundraising events in his hometown of West Dunbartonshire.

Cheryl's sighting comes as her ex Liam Payne, 26, who shares son Bear, two, with the singer, said she had become anxious about going out with him in public, due to the constant attention the pair received.

He said 'For her, if you were going out somewhere, it would take so long to get out of the door because you're just so worried.'

Liam also hinted he was 'frightened' of Cheryl during their romance and said: 'She's strict. She's surprised me sometimes.

The hunk has now moved on with model Maya Henry, 19, with the pair making their red carpet debut at the launch event for Rita Ora's Escada collaboration at Paris Fashion Week earlier this month.

More than 100 of the UK's biggest stars came together at the Daily Mirror Pride of Britain Awards to honour the nation's unsung heroes on the landmark 20th anniversary of the event.

The awards recognise and celebrate ordinary people up and down the country doing extraordinary things.
