'Lots of people want me to do it': Gemma Collins sets her sights on Caroline Flack's Love Island presenter role following the host's assault charge
Gemma Collins has thrown her hat in the ring for the upcoming Love Island presenter role as she chatted on Lorraine on Wednesday morning.
The TOWIE star, 38, revealed many fans are yearning for her to replace embattled Caroline Flack, 40, in the position, following the TV host's arrest and charge for assault after a row with her boyfriend Lewis Burton, 27.
She said: 'Lots of people want me to do Love Island and I was trending on Twitter yesterday… Would I be a Dancing on Ice judge, maybe one day… Definitely, if I got the call, why not? But you know what it’s like in TV… you have to wait your turn.'

On Tuesday, Caroline confirmed she had stepped down from Love Island after her arrest following a row with boyfriend Lewis at her home last week.
A host of stars were tipped to replace Caroline, with Gemma's name adding to the whispers which reached fever pitch on Wednesday morning.
Fans swarmed Twitter with comments about signing the star, as her name was mentioned alongside stars including Maya Jama and Laura Whitmore.
Fans thought Gemma's famous brand of humour would be perfect for the show, with one viewer writing: 'Gemma Collins presenting Love Island is all I want to see'.

Aside from setting her sights on the role, she also spoke about her forthcoming return to Dancing On Ice ahead of the new season.
She said: 'It was great fun to go back. I love fun… I wasn’t nervous at all. I was buzzing to get back on that ice. Who would have thought? It was quite a big moment for me.. I was just like a duck to water. I missed the ice...
'Do you know what, I really learnt endurance on that show and I had no choice but to get back on that ice and perform every week and it was tough at the time, but I’m a true believer and after doing the show, you’ve got to fight your fears and do them anyway.'
