Note: Contains MAJOR spoilers for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
We already knew that Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker was bringing back Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, but JJ Abrams had other surprise returns up his sleeve.
No, we're not talking about that emotional one.
What we are talking about is the bit towards the end when Rey has an almighty showdown with Emperor Palpatine. And just when all hope seems lost, something happens that gives her the strength to continue.
But in case you haven't seen The Rise of Skywalker yet, spoilers await.
With Palpatine fully revived (thanks to his draining of Kylo Ren and Rey's life force) and all of the Sith inside him, his power is too great for Rey to face alone.
Fortunately for her, the Jedi voices she's been reaching out for come to her aid, leading to a powerful moment where we hear numerous Jedi voices from across the Star Wars universe to give Rey the strength to defeat Palpatine.
There are so many voices in the mix that it can be hard to work them all out on first viewing, so here's a handy guide to everyone we hear – and where we've seen them before.
Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen)
While he doesn't appear in person like some fans wanted, Hayden Christensen does reprise his prequel trilogy role as Anakin Skywalker and tells Rey to "bring balance to the Force".
Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor and Alec Guinness)
As in The Force Awakens, both Ewan McGregor and Alec Guinness can be heard as Obi-Wan. We hear the same original Guinness dialogue from A New Hope that sounds like "Rey", with McGregor recording new dialogue.
Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill)
Mark Hamill has a cameo earlier in the movie as Luke's Force ghost appears to Rey on Ahch-To to give her Leia's lightsaber, so it's not a surprise that he has a part to play when Rey needs help.
Yoda (Frank Oz)
Frank Oz claimed he wasn't in The Rise of Skywalker, but clearly fool us he wanted to, as Yoda is, of course, heard during the sequence too.
Mace Windu (Samuel L Jackson)
One of the biggest crowdpleasers is the return of Samuel L Jackson as Mace Windu. Sadly, he doesn't call Palpatine a "motherf**ker".
Qui-Gon Jinn (Liam Neeson)
Given he taught Anakin and Yoda all about Force ghosting, Qui-Gon Jinn wasn't going to miss out on this party, and Liam Neeson reprises his The Phantom Menace role for the second time (he also appeared as a Force ghost in Revenge of the Sith).
Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein)
But it's not just the movies that The Rise of Skywalker looked to for Jedis. Ashley Eckstein reprises her fan-favourite role as Ahsoka Tano, who's appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
Kanan Jarrus (Freddie Prinze Jr)
Having survived Order 66, Freddie Prinze Jr's Jedi Knight Kanan Jarrus was a key figure in Star Wars Rebels before he sacrificed his life to help his fellow rebels escape, and became part of the Cosmic Force.
Luminara Unduli (Olivia D'abo)
Olivia D'abo played Jedi Master Luminara Unduli across both the prequel trilogy – where she was killed off as part of Order 66 – and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, where she fought alongside Ahsoka Tano.
Aayla Secura (Jennifer Hale)
Like Luminara, Jennifer Hale's Aayla Secura appeared in the prequel trilogy (being killed off in Revenge of the Sith... those poor Jedi), but the Jedi General played a bigger role in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Adi Gallia (Angelique Perrin)
And to complete the set, Jedi Master Adi Gallia was played by Angelique Perrin in the prequel trilogy where she appeared on the Jedi Council, before having a bigger part in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and was eventually killed by Darth Maul's brother, Savage Opress.
Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is in cinemas now.
