X FACTOR star Danny Tetley has admitted to sexually exploiting teenage boys as young as 14.

Tetley, 40, groomed many of his victims to send him explicit images in exchange for cash.

He today formally pleaded guilty to paying five 15 to 16-year-olds to send him indecent images.

At a previous hearing that can only now be reported, the Benidorm entertainer guilty to the sexual exploitation of two 14-year-old boys.

Tetley, who appeared in the dock in a black spotty t-shirt and glasses, exchanged more than 10,000 WhatsApp messages with the seven boys between October, last year, and August, this year.

Many of his victims’ families sat in the public gallery at Bradford Crown Court to hear him admit his offences.

Tetley, of Bradford, West Yorks, pleaded not guilty to making indecent images of children and perverting the course of justice.

Prosecutor Michael Smith told the court Tetley would not be tried on the other outstanding allegations.

He said: "The investigation is complete and the victims have been identified."

Barrister Andrew Dallas, for Tetley, asked for the sentence to be adjourned so the defence had time to consider "well over 10,000" text messages or WhatsApp messages which had been served.

The performer, who made the live shows in last year's X Factor series and came in sixth place, has been remanded in custody until next month and will be sentenced on January 24.
