According to a report, one senior staffer said the Queen was the most modernising head of state in the royal family’s history. They added that her Majesty and the Duke of Edinburgh had transformed the monarchy from a medieval institution into a modern one. The comments came in response to sources close to Meghan and Harry claiming they were dragging the family into the 21st century.
A senior royal staffer told The Sun: “The Queen, with the support of Prince Philip, turned it from a medieval organisation to a modern one.
"They broadcast the coronation, did the first-ever reality series on TV, opened Buckingham Palace up to the public."
Friends of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently accused the royal family of not giving them the recognition they deserve.
Sources claimed the couple’s advisors were incapable of “harnessing their value”.
It followed a clash over the Sussex’s comments in a TV documentary on Sunday.
The two spoke about their “struggle” with life in the public eye.
It came as Meghan was seen on Tuesday night for the first time since the ITV documentary was aired.
The Duchess attended the One Young World Summit opening ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Harry confirmed rumours there was a rift with his brother Prince William that palace aides had tried to deny.
He told journalist, and personal friend, Tom Bradby: “Part of this role and part of this job and this family being under the pressure that it’s under inevitably, you know, stuff happens.
“But look, we’re brothers. We’re certainly on different paths at the moment but I will always be there for him and I know he’ll always be there for me.
Harry added: “You know, we don’t see each other as much as we, as much as we used to because we’re so busy.
“But I love him dearly and, you know, the majority of the stuff is created out of nothing. Just as I said, as brothers, you have good days, you have bad days.”
Meghan received support from the royal family this month after liking a tweet which called out her critics.
The Sussexes and Cambridges’ official social media accounts have taken steps to stop harassment of Meghan and Kate.
Despite this, the official royal family Twitter account has taken things to a new level.
The pro-Meghan post was liked by the official royal family account, which can be seen on its Twitter page.
Many people were pleased to see the royal family showcasing a united front over the issues.
